Huetiful Hair Steamer Review

Members of the natural hair community are raving about hair steaming. It’s an amazing way to hydrate your hair and help it maintain moisture. The Huetiful Hair Steamer was the first hair steamer I heard about and it was pretty pricey for the broke college student I was at the time. Nevertheless, I decided to make the investment because I was serious about maintaining healthy hair.

Currently you can purchase a Huetiful Hair Steamer for under $120 which is a steal considering how some professional stylists charge you extra to add a steam to their services. The steamer would pay for itself after a while. There’s a 60 day return policy and a money back guarantee so it’s pretty much a risk free purchase. The steamer also comes with an attachment for facials so add that to the list of reasons why you may need one.

The Huetiful Hair Steamer takes deep conditioning to the next level, I love pairing it with SheaMoisture products.

Setting up the steamer for use is pretty simple. There’s three main pieces for you to put together, add water and then you’re ready to steam. After washing your hair, apply conditioner to it and sit under the steamer for approximately 20 minutes (there’s an automatic timer). Huetiful claims that the steamer improves manageability and restores moisture 5x more than conditioners alone. I can vouch for the moisture aspect of their claims simply because my hair stays softer and moisturized for longer when I steam. I don’t use the steamer half as much as I’d like to because of the time it adds to the washing process. Not to mention, I hate cleaning the steamer after usage. To the average person, the cleaning should be no big deal but to me, I’d just rather not deal with it all the time. Shame on me.

Huetiful has grown drastically since I purchased my steamer. The company is a brand, it doesn’t just sell steamers.  They now have a haircare line that includes shampoos, conditioners, face masques and more. I haven’t tried those yet but they seem pretty cool.

The bottom line:

The Huetiful Hair Steamer is the truth but it’s super time consuming and if you’re semi-lazy like me, you won’t enjoy the amount of effort it takes to use the thing. You will, however, appreciate the results when you do. If you have natural hair, or hair that you want to keep moisturized, you pretty much need a steamer. There are other hair steamers on the market (Huetiful copycats included), but I’m proud to own this one.
